Over recent years Susan has successfully introduced the use of Acupuncture, for the treatment of infertility, as a supplement to IVF.

The needles used are very fine and therefore in most people, with their eyes shut, the needles are barely felt. Even when pain is experienced, it is rather less than an accidental pin-prick.

Ref: Ms. DS Age: 56yrs old
Diagnosis: Left trigeminal neuralgia
Treatment: Initially treated with Carbamazepine without success. He was then treated with acupuncture and after 6 treatments was pain free. She had a minor flare up in early 2008, had four further treatments and is again pain-free.

Diagnosis: Right trigeminal neuralgia diagnosed by a facio-maxillary surgeon
Treatment: Was in severe pain for several years. Tooth extraction was also carried out but without success. He had a course of acupuncture treatment in 2007 and has since been pain free.

Diagnosis: Severe right sided facial pain following a tooth extraction as an emergency. Had been referred to pain clinic and then a neurologist.
Treatment: Treated with acupuncture with such improvement that neurosurgical advice was put off even though MRI scan had shown vascular loops close to the trigeminal nerve on both sides.

Diagnosis: Had open operation for fracture of left tibia and fibula and although operation had been a ‘success’, he could not walk because of pain.
Treatment: Treated with acupuncture on three occasions and is now pain free.
